Tasty vegetables
We had a visitor, Elizabeth Killinger , who gave a lot of information on different kinds of vegetables. It was interesting and tasty.
Scarecrow Patch
We spent an enjoyable day at the Scarecrow Patch in St. Libory one beautiful fall day. It was great playing on all of the equipment, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows and picking out our own pumpkin.
Homecoming and Spirit Week
Halloween
Thanksgiving
After studying the Pilgrims and Native Americans, we dressed as Native Americans and played drums (Oatmeal boxes). We also played a few games that they may have played at the first Thanksgiving. We got pretty good at them!
Christmas 2015
To celebrate Christmas, we were treated to having older students read to us. We then donated pajamas and books for those in need. It was an enjoyable afternoon!
100 Days of School
A couple of the events that we did in Mrs. Wood's room was to find 100 Hershey kisses that had numbers on the bottom. It took all day but we did find all of them! We also made Fruit Loop necklaces with 100 pieces of cereal.
Spaghetti Challenge
Each team was given 10 pieces of spaghetti, 1yard of tape, 1 yard of string and a large marshmallow. In 18 minutes they were to build the tallest structure that would hold the marshmallow off the ground. After several beginnings, we got off to a start. One team was successful!
FFA Barnyard
The FFA group set up a barnyard in the bus barn. It was great fun to touch the animals, listen to the older kids tell about them and of course, have Dalton show us how to rope a "dummy". We just didn't understand why we couldn't stay out there all day!
Read Across America and Dr. Seuss's Birthday
Some of our parents and grandparents entertained us with our favorite stories. We also enjoyed some other activities.
